Jacque Crago

Jacque Lee Crago passed away on June 23, 2026, in Omak, Washington, surrounded by his family. Born in Placerville, California, on March 20, 1942, Jacque was the son of Archie and Laverne Crago. As an older teen, he spent a short but meaningful time living with Vet and Orval McCann, who offered him guidance and support during an important stage of his life. He grew up in the Placerville area alongside his large and lively family of six brothers and three sisters. Jacque married Nancy Wells on May 5, 1965, and together they welcomed three daughters: Rae Lynn, Tammy, and Cindy. On February 18, 1983, he married Gayle, with whom he shared more than four decades of partnership until her passing in January 2026. Through this marriage, Jacque’s family grew to include Travis and Amanda, along with a wide and loving extended family. Throughout his life, Jacque lived in Oregon, Reno, Sacramento, Juneau, and ultimately Omak, Washington. No matter where he was, he carried with him a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, tending his garden, and spending time on his property. Being with family was always at the heart of his happiness. Jacque was truly a “Jacque of all trades.” He worked in lumber mills, drove long-haul trucks, held many roles at Don Abels, and later worked at Safeway in Omak. He was endlessly handy, always ready with a tool in his hand and an idea for how to fix whatever needed fixing. In 2000, he and Gayle moved to Omak to be closer to family and enjoy semi-retirement. Sports were a lifelong passion for Jacque, especially softball. He shared that love with his daughters and countless young athletes, becoming a beloved coach known for his encouragement, patience, and dedication. Many remember him as the greatest coach they ever had. Jacque was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; two sisters; his first wife, Nancy; and his wife, Gayle, who passed in January 2026. He is survived by his daughters—Rae Lynn, Tammy, and Cindy (Judd); his stepchildren—Travis (Jessica) and Amanda (Beto); 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his brother Rick; and his sister Cherri. A celebration of life will be held in Omak on August 8th @ 11am at the Omak Elks for family and friends. Jacque’s final resting place will be among family, where his legacy of love, hard work, and generosity will continue to live on.
