Lois Wilken

March 16, 1930 - May 25, 2022

Our Beloved mother, Lois Wilken went home to Jesus on May 25th 2022 at age 92. Lois was born to Henry and Buleah Nedry on March 16th 1930 in Sherwood, Oregon. When Lois was younger, she enjoyed spending her time with her beloved horse where she learned to love the freedom of living in the country. Lois left Portland to move to Chelan in 1969 for a job offer with the Forest Service. Lois met Morey, a match truly made in heaven. They were married in 1971. After making their home in Malott, they had many years of love and adventures together. Lois retired in 1988 with the Okanogan National Forest in Okanogan, WA. Lois was a loyal servant of God, first and foremost. She loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. She was an avid member of the Okanogan Valley Alliance Church and supporter for the Awana program for children. Now that Lois has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Lois’ physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her. Lois joins her Loving husband Morey, her parents, Henry and Buleah and her siblings, Ross Nedry, Carol Birdsong, and Joyce Hart in Heaven. She is survived by loving family members, including her brother, Bud Nedry-Redmond, OR; sons, Darrell (Karen Meyer) Howard- Pahoa, HI; Brandt Howard- Okanogan; Special Daughter, Cindy Simpson-Okanogan; grandchildren, Just Howard- Indonesia; Cassandra Howard- Honolulu, HI; and Brock Howard- Okanogan, WA. Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Lois, to held June 11th 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Okanogan Valley Aliance Church – 111 John Street, Okanogan, WA – Celebration will include a Zoom Broadcast for those that cannot make it. Psalm 138: I give you thanks, O Lord! All the kings of the earth will praise you. Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life.
