Terry Brian (Sxakin) Charley

Terry Brian Charley “Sxakin”, 61 of Malott, WA passed away in the afternoon of December 16th 2022. Terry was born November 13th 1961 at Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak, WA to his parents T.B. Charley and Pearl Aleck. He grew up in Malott and attended the Malott Elementary School; and during that time when a in little league baseball coached by Stan Stout as a star pitcher and played in the Wenatchee all star game. Terry had a few classmates been with him all the way until graduation; Gregg Stout, Don Serles, Gregg Skirko, Randy Nelson, Lynn Maas, Connie Sam, Jens Waddell and many more definitely part of his life. He graduated class of 1981. He loved playing Bingo, worked most of his life at Gebbers Farms in Brewster, WA; worked in the hay fields changing water lines; loved history that was told by Elders and he knew a lot of that history by listening. His last employment he worked for AAOA out of the Omak Tribal Office. Terry left AAOA to take care of his wife until her death in 2012, who he was married to for 25 years. Terry has been a member of the 1910 Indian Shaker Church for 47 years. He had held a few titles of the church and Bishop for a 4 year term and minister for a life term. Terry held many titles and traveled to all of the 1910 Shaker churches to help out and be a part of their family lives as well as into Canada, California, Idaho where brother Terry was well respected. Terry would help anyone out by splitting wood, shovel, pack or stack, mow the yards as well as taking care of the family Chiliwist Cemetery plot which was taught to him by his father, T.B.-Sxakin. Terry was a member of Colville Confederated Tribes/Methow Band. Terry is survived by sisters, Marianne Mosqueda of Okanogan; Brenda (David) Cirk of Nespelem; Harriet Charley of Omak; Nephews, Charlie Byrd of Malott; Frank Charley of Nespelem; Eduardo Delgado of Maine; Nieces, Clara Mosqueda of Omak; Jessica Valenzuela of Nespelem; Mary Mosqueda of Omak; Esmerelda Mosqueda of Okanogan; Fabehola Mosqueda of Okanogan; Isabel Delgado of Arizona; Step-Children, Jessie B of Omak; Jennifer B of Omak; Jesslyn B of Omak; Ramon G of Malott; Martin G of Omak; plus all the step grand children; Uncle Sonny and Auntie Anna Johns of Toppenish, WA; plus all our family of the Colville Rez, Yakima Rez and Warm Springs Rez. He was preceded in death by wife, Ruthie; both parents; sister Margaret Byrd; brother, Duane Charley; and niece, Pearl Byrd. Terry is with our Ancestors.
