Susan Claire Petersen-Bell

Susan Claire Petersen-Bell, born October 10, 1957, passed away peacefully in her home on July 2, 2024. She was surrounded by so much love from her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends until the end. Susan was born and raised in Okanogan where she spent her childhood playing with her 6 siblings and riding any horse or burrow she could jump on. She has always been a true cowgirl. She found her true passion in her adult years when she became a mother to Tim and Thad. Her boys were her pride and joy. In 1994 she met her true love, Gene Bell, and they tied the knot in May of 1996. They spent many years adventuring, varying from trail rides on their horses to fishing and vacationing. When they became grandparents their worlds got a little brighter. Susan loved having the grandkids over and cherished every moment she got. To say she was a great grandmother would be an understatement as she gave every ounce of love she could possibly give. Susan was the most selfless person you could have the privilege of knowing and would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. Her beloved husband got diagnosed with cancer in 2021 and she spent the last two years caring for him and continued to do so when she was diagnosed in 2023. Susan continued to fight her battle of Ovarian cancer, even after losing Gene in December of 2023, but she unfortunately succumbed to it after a long hard battle. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Bell, father and mother Stanley & Phyllis Petersen, father and mother in-law, Al & Bonnie Bell, sister in-law Lisa Petersen and brother in-law Ross Hinshaw. She is survived by two her sons; Tim Brady-wife Rachel, Thad Brady-wife Korina. Grandchildren; Jameka, Kayla, Natayla, Jaedyn, Teagan, Braedyn, Isaiah, Liam, Natalie, Amaya and Owen. Siblings, Shirley (Jim Klein), Z Tony (Sandy Petersen), Peg Hinshaw, Marilou (Andy Baker), Patsy Rearden, George Petersen (Darci Hawkins), (John Goss). And many, many others who loved her. There are not enough words to explain how amazing Susan was and how deeply she will be missed. A special thanks to Kelsey and Ed from Enhabit Home Health as they were tremendous help to Susan, as well as the family. We are extremely thankful for them.
