Robert Elmer Kiepke

Robert (Bob) Elmer Kiepke, 82, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born to Virginia and Elmer Kiepke, on November 29, 1943, in Igloo, South Dakota, where he spent his early childhood hunting and fishing with his dad, siblings, uncles and cousins. When Bob was 8, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona because of Bob’s severe asthma. Despite the struggles of asthma, Bob excelled in high school football and enjoyed the outdoors. Robert met his loving wife, Rhonda, in 1962 and soon married and started a family. His work with Contel Telecommunications moved the family around quite a bit, and they eventually settled in Renton, Washington where they raised their daughters Tracy, Kelly and Amber. Robert lived a life defined by dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Robert devoted more than 60 years to the telecommunications field, building a reputation for exceptional skill, reliability, and a work ethic that never wavered. He was known for his honesty, strong sense of ethics, and candid nature; qualities that shaped both his professional life and his relationships. His charity work with The Special Olympics earned him recognition and appreciation, showcasing his big and giving heart. Robert carried a zest for life and adventure that often led him into memorable predicaments and unforgettable stories. He embraced the outdoors with passion, finding joy in fishing, camping, hunting and was an avid sports fan. These pursuits were woven into the fabric of who he was and became the source of many of the stories he loved to share. Bob and Rhonda built a home on Alta Lake Golf Course in Pateros, Washington where they retired. Above all else, Robert believed that family was everything. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rhonda, his three daughters Tracy (John), Kelly (Rick), and Amber (Glenn), eight grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, his sister Patty, and his brother Ted. He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia, father Elmer, and his brother Gary. Two celebrations of Robert’s life will be held:  June 20th 2026 at 12:00 PM at Lincoln Rock State Park in Washington  October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM in Chandler, Arizona He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
