Louella Maria Anderson

Louella Maria Orr Anderson passed away on April 26, 2024 at Mid-Valley Hospital surrounded by her family. Louella was born on May 13, 1939 in Nespelem, WA to Louis Orr Sr. and Estelle Estes. She is one of six children. Louella attended local schools in the area, graduating from Okanogan High School in 1957, after her first marriage and being away from the Omak/Okanogan area for a few years. She came home to the reservation with her first two children Michael (Marty) Moore Sr. and Michelle Smith. While working full time, she put herself through College and earned her degree. This is when she started her career in Social Services. Her second marriage welcomed her daughter Alisa Salazar. After many years with the Tribal and State Social Services programs. She got the political bug and ran for Tribal Council feeling that she could help her tribe, and she DID. In the twelve years that she served, there were many great accomplishments. 181-Claims to the Colville Tribal Membership, the Ground Breaking of Mill-Bay Casino. Purchase of the Plywood Plant, which would become one home of the new Tribal Head Starts Facility, a New Health Care Clinic and New Senior Meal Site. She also sat on numerous Boards of Trust; Mid-Valley Hospital, Pascal Sherman Indian School, Senior Meal Site for the Tribes and Peace Makers, just to name a few. Also with her third marriage, she welcomed three step-daughters. Cindy Lobe, Barbie Harlow, and Debbie Adolph. She also helped run a gas station with her husband in Nespelem, WA. Louella's truest accomplishment in life was her love for her family, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and now her great great grandchildren. She tried to never miss any events, from sporting to dance recitals. She traveled far and wide to be there. She made sure that she supported them through all the phases in their lives. There was always something for every child under the Christmas tree and every meal at Grandma Lou's was an event with everyone helping out and chipping in. She is survived by one brother, Roy Orr of Everett and one sister, Georgia Orr Tongal of Omak; all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is now holding our baby brother watching over us all. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Dinner at the Omak Longhouse on Saturday, May 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM.
